Well the mistakes have been weeded out now and everyone is bang on track. Those who did it properly lost around 4 lbs in 7 days, those who slipped up around 2, so all in all not bad.

Today we talked about the importance of optimal alignment or posture. We all know that posture is important and that slouching is bad for us but we still don't take too much notice of it. Well maybe if we understood exactly what dysfunctional posture does to the body we might take a little more care of ourselves.

1) A constant pain the neck!

Number one is the obvious one. Bad posture means that your muscles are pulling your skeleton out of alignment. This can happen because we adopt a certain posture for excessive periods of our day, e.g. sitting in the office at the computer for 10-12 hours a day.

Our bodies adapt quickly making sure we're very efficient at the task at hand so most of us now fall into the category of sitting athelete. We literally train our bodies to sit for around 10-12 hours daily!

What happens when we train a muscle to do something repeatedly? It adapts to the stimulus.

So now we've told our bodies to tighten up the hip flexors, shorten the quads and hamstrings, tighten up the pecs and work really hard in the upper back shoulders and neck.

Now whilst you're doing all this sitting around, the bottom and the core mucles of the stomach, start to get bored and switch off. After all, what's the point in being constantly ready for action when it never comes? Plus because all those muscles mentioned above have become so efficient, they might as well take over and do everything else while they're at it.

This is where we start to see pain syndromes and injuries start to set in. The sitting muscles become really overworked and get far too tense causing pain and limited mobility. The muscles that should be working to help you walk, twist, flex and extend have gone to sleep so someone else, (like the back), has to compensate and take the load. All of a sudden you've got low back pain, shoulder pain, neck stiffness and headaches, all from not using your body correctly.

2) Stand straight, be happy!

That's right, posture affects your mood. Have you ever noticed that when you feel a bit down or tired your posture is the first thing to go? Whereas when you're happy and confident you'll walk down the street with your head high, shoulders back and smiling at the world!

Have you ever seen a politician give an address? They exude confidence and gain our trust, (or try to!), by standing tall and proud, chest high and indicating a pillar of strength upon which we can depend.

Try it yourself. Think of a situation that made you uncomfortable or affected you in a negative way. Try and feel what you were feeling at the time, see the sights and smell the air around you.

Now stand up straight, throw your shoulders back, lift your head high and out a silly grin on your face. Try and imagine that same situation. I bet your feelings towards the memory have changed. It probably feels more distant, like you can't identify with it as strongly? Your posture is inherently related to emotions.

3) I feel sick!

Although you may not realise it, your health is seriously affected by bad posture. Our bodies are complicated machines, which when treated with care and respect can do amazing things and will last a lifetime. However, if you leave them untended, forget to run them properly and leave them idle evey day they will stall and bigger problems will appear.

Imagine your dream car. Think about driving that car and what it would feel like.

How does it sound?

How responsive is it to your commands?

How fast can it go?

What does it look like?

Now imagine that car waiting at the lights ready to go when 2 articulated lorries pull up either side and squash it a little bit,(please don't cry).

The chassis is now bent so the car won't track properly on the road.

The engine has a limited space in which to work.

The cylinders won't fire properly and get all jammed up.

The fuel line is squashed and the fuel doesn't feed the engine properly.

The radiator can't cool the engine properly.

In fact everything is now functioning at around 50% capacity.

This is exactly what we do to our bodies. We squash our visceral cavity, (the space in the torso where the organs sit), through bad posture by letting the chest sink in and the spine round forward. Your stomach now has less space to digest, your liver and kidneys less space to flush toxins, your pancreas less room to produce hormones. Everything is working slower and less efficiently. So now you are more prone to digestive disorders, like IBS, because your metabolism has slowed down and you're not producing enzymes as well as you should be to break down food.

Asthma is exacerbated by limited space in the respiratory system .

Male Pattern Baldness is in part caused by limited blood flow to the head. If you have forward head posture from sitting at the computer, muscles in the neck and shoulders will tighten up restricting blood flow to the head. If the body has a choice between sending blood to the brain or the scalp, it's going to the brain.

So suddenly posture becomes somewhat more interesting!

4) I feel slimmer already!

We've all done it. You put on that great outfit for a night out, you check yourself out in the mirror from all angles and automatically pulled yourself in, dropped your shoulders back and stood taller. Magically you've lost 5lbs!

When we are properly aligned everything is stretched out meaning we appear longer, leaner and slimmer.

5) Posture affects fat loss

OK this is the golden egg! Remember we were talking about the digestive system having limited space and not working properly? Well if your metabolism slows down and you become sluggish you will burn less fat.

Correct your posture and your organs will function more efficiently, speeding up your body's metabolic processes and turning you into a much more efficient fat burning machine!

So next time you brush off posture with a backhanded, I know I should do something about it but...., think again. It will change your life!

Day 2

So today was psychology. The essence of goal setting and how important it is in the fat loss cycle.

We had a really good session. We got right into everyone's goals and the true desires underneath the mask of, "I want to lose weight".

The thing is how many times have you started on a weight loss journey and not really understood exactly how, when and why it was going to happen?

You wouldn't just jump in your car to travel through Europe without an exact plan! You'd want to know how it was going to happen, what route you were going to take, when you're going to get there, how much it will cost, before you decide to go ahead and do the trip.

So why do we think the journey to any other goal in our life will just magically happen?

Unless your fat loss journey is specific and detailed you'll never get there. The simple fact of knowing that this is going to be a reality is a great motivator. When you are that focussed on an outcome, that you've planned for every single step of the way, it's going to happen!

Day 1

What a great start to bootcamp!

Today we talked through the elimination in depth and discussed all the pitfalls of processed, manufactured and refined foods and why they are so heavily responsible for obesity, IBS, food intolerance, diabetes, fat retention...the list goes on.

Everyone took the diet on board with full acceptance straight away. There was the usual, what about this food or that food but once everyone understood the reasons behind the rules, it was clear that to get results you need to make a change!

If you always do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always had!

So guys, today is day 1 on elimination. Make sure you're strict and filling out your Power Journals, (download on the site). Fill these in religiously.

A few other tips:

Eat every 3 hours - (no sooner than 2, no longer than 4)
Eat protein with every meal/snack
Drink 1ltr of water per 50ilbs of bodyweight
Limit your carbs after 3pm (read no starchy carbs if you want to lose a lot of fat fast)
Check all packaging and labelling on food religiously!
Make sure your food is fresh and organic (you can buy non-organic fruit and veg but wash it thoroughly and peel if you can)

Good Luck,

Message me if you need help!

1 Day To Go!!

Yippee!

It's so exciting, I can't wait!

I have a group of really motivated, positive people who really want to transform their lives and bodies forever and that makes my job worthwhile! I count myself really lucky that I'm able to do what I do and I just love coming to work every day, it's so rewarding!

So tommorrow is the big kick off and will lay the foundations for the rest of the course and is essential knowledge for permanent fat loss.

Tommorow we cover nutrition in depth and start with the exercise basics for all the training that will follow. These movement patterns will take the body through 360 degree movements in all dimensions and follow our 600 principle...each exercise will use all 600(ish) muscles in the body. The exercises cover basic movements that we should all be able to perform with ease, but sadly due to modern day living we no longer use our bodies properly, so although they will be challenging at first after daily repetition the body will adapt quickly, (= results fast).

If you still haven't signed up and you want in, you need to contact me QUICK! If you don't start tommorow you'll have to wait for the next camp starting in May.

You can contact the studio on 0207 354 3550.

Almost there!

We're almost there!

Bootcamp starts on Tuesday and everyone seems really up for it, which is great!

It's going to be a great start to the year and the programme this year is even better than last year. We're in a brand new studio, purpose made for bootcamp which means we've got loads of room to run around in and generally make as much noise as we want to!

If you haven't signed up yet you'd better get your skates on as you've nnot long left and once we've started that's it, we're closed to new starters until May. I couldn't have said it better myself so I thought why bother, I'll let Paul do the talking!

Fatty or Not?

So you thought it was fattening huh?

Aren't (insert food here) fattening?

I get asked this question by 99.9% of my clients and friends/relatives/random people and it REALLY irritates me!

It happened just the other day, I was snacking on some almonds and cashew nuts with a few goji berries and my housemates partner said to me ' aren't nuts fattening?, my diet club says they are!'

Needless to say my response is unprintable , so I want to clarify a few food myths here about so called 'fatty foods'.

Here are the foods that are given a rough deal...

Eggs - Poor eggs have been given an awful hard time. Eggs, and I am talking about whole eggs here, are great for you. In fact, eggs whites are for dorks!

Most of the nutrition in eggs is found in the yolk!

The cholesterol in eggs is good (HDL) cholesterol which will protect you from heart disease.

Eggs contain omega 3 fatty acids. Again these will not only protect you from disease but will also help you burn body fat while raising your metabolism.

Each egg you eat contains about 6grms of protein. In order to consume enough protein you should consume at least 25grms per sitting so 4 eggs will get you close to that mark.

I'm actually about to go get my lunch - scrambled eggs with 6 whole eggs, a chopped tomato and a few jalapenos to give it some kick.

I'm certainly not overweight and I eat 20+ eggs a week.

Eggs are not fattening and will help you in your quest to drop body fat. Make sure you buy organic eggs as they are much higher in nutrients than factory farrmed ones.

Nuts, Avocados and Coconuts are usually placed in the same boat as Eggs. But again all of these foods contain good fats or essential fatty acids that will help increase your health and get rid of your unwanted wobbly bits!

So what are the real fatty foods? Anything that contains trans fats, hydrogenated fat and vegetable oils. All of these are man made fats or are processed so heavily that they become rancid and toxic to our bodies.

These are found in most processed foods such as bread, ready meals (yes, including weight watchers!) margarines and low fat spreads, and your usual sweets, crisps etc.

In fact, take a look at the ingredients in your 'healthy' spread, you'll find at least 5 or 6 you cant pronounce, whereas butter has just 2 ingredients.

Beware of low fat products because they normally contain these bad fats instead of the good fats.
Forget the calories and get your nutrients in: Eating Protein, Veg and Good Fats in every meal will ignite your fat burning hormones.

“XL Factor”

London’s Fat Loss Expert, opens competition to find 8 morbidly obese people to lose 16 stone in 8 weeks. To highlight how simple it is to halt this global epidemic, the free fat fighting bootcamp will show that you can get radical results fast.

Obesity has become a major epidemic. The latest figures from the Department of Health survey , reveal 67% of men and 56% women are overweight or obese. For the first time in human history, the number of overweight people rivals the number of underweight people .

When you consider being overweight is linked to such diseases as coronary heart disease, type II diabetes, osteoarthritis and some cancers; you wonder why we are so carelessly signing our own death warrant with the junk food we throw into our bodies on a daily basis.

In an effort to stem this fatal disease, fat loss experts are asking Brits to consider what sacrifices they’ll make to their health in the name of convenience. In this busy modern life the convenience and appeal of ready meals, take-aways and eating on the fly means that we don’t always care what’s in it, as long as it looks ok, tastes nice and is quick and easy.

Unfortunately most don’t think about what’s going on inside and tend to concentrate on what they look like. So in an effort to make the outer beauty more appealing Brits are turning in their droves to magic miracle cures, diet pills and potions which promise to burn fat, increase your muscle tone and transform your figure in days.

Now, alarmingly, more hardcore methods are becoming widely accepted; botox in your break, filler in your free 5 minutes and lipo in your lunch hour. Over 16,000 cosmetic procedures were carried out in 2004 with the astounding year on year increase of 18% .

Nisha Obaidullah, a fat loss expert at Dax Moy Personal Training Studios, said, “Quick fix methods don’t solve epidemics. We need a societal approach rather than individual action and it requires change on a massive scale. Rather like global warming, it requires politics, science, business and civil partnership to attack such a global giant.”

In an attempt to start the ball rolling, Nisha is inviting applications from obese individuals who are seriously at risk of obesity related disease, to attend a 12 week course of fat fighting strategies, psychology and motivation tools, nutrition and exercise, designed specifically to help break habits, re-educate on a conscious and sub-conscious level and most importantly, get results fast!

The candidates will be chosen via a selection day held at the Islington studios on Tuesday 1st April. Those interested in applying should call the studios on 0207 354 3550, or email: info@daxmoy.co.uk. There are only 8 free places available so if you think it sounds right for you then be quick!

Nisha Obaidullah is a performance and lifestyle coach at DaxMoy Personal Training Studios, London, specialising in weight management and fat loss. But does this work?

How do you feel when you wake up?

Bright, alert, full of energy?

Do you wake up before your alarm?

Are you filled with enthusiasm for the day?

Or is it more like this:

ALARM goes off, you hit snoooooze. You get up 15 minutes late. You rush to get ready for work. You leave the house, forgetting your mobile. You go back in and now you’re pushing 25 minutes late for work. The rest of your day is stressful and rushed just because you couldn’t get out of bed.

It doesn’t have to be like this. There is another way!

We need 8 hours sleep a night. There’s a good reason. Between 10pm and 2am your body produces the greatest concentration of melatonin, the hormone that makes you drowsy and is used in body repair. After this time melatonin decreases. If you cut into this time you reduce the time that melatonin has to repair the stresses and strains placed on your body through the day.

Prolactin is produced in the latter part of your sleep, and peaks during REM sleep and in the early morning. If however by going to bed late you push prolactin production into the waking part of your day it will stimulate your cravings for carbs. Eat more carbs, gain more fat.

Not only will you be craving more but as Prolactin suppresses Leptin, the hormone which makes you feel full, you won’t know when to stop!

So are you starting to see why we need 8 hours sleep?

By changing just this one factor, (nothing else), in a client’s programme last week, saw my client start to lose weight again after hitting a plateau. So give yourself a break, get to bed before 10:30pm, sleep through till 6am and see the difference it makes to your week.

Elimination - Cut the cr*p, lose the fat!

OK, so everybody's been asking about elimination and why it's the best thing for fat loss you'll ever come across!

Elimination is basically a detox diet without the faddy attributes of just drinking soup for 10 days or cutting out every single food group imaginable!

Elimination doesn't cut food groups, count calories or have you drinking some awful tasting concoction. In fact you get to eat as much as you want (need), and more often. Who wouldn't want a diet where you eat more and weigh less?!

So how does it work?

Elimination works on the principle of clean wholesome food. The body doesn't like "artificial". In fact it hates it; it means loads of extra work trying to cope with all the cr*p we're dumping in it's nice efficient system. Now all the workers (cells) in that system are distracted from doing their jobs in the liver, pancreas, kidneys, stomach, etc, and have to fight all the alien toxins trying to infiltrate the base camp. They have jobs to do, but right at this moment they're under threat, so it's all cells to arms!

Cut to 3 days later.

The alien toxins are still flooding in and the worker cells are now on red alert. If they don't get back to work soon, the body will start to break down. The immune system is shot, the liver and kidneys are working overtime trying to flush toxins, but it's no good because whatever they get rid of is replaced with more than they can deal with.

So what do they do?

They surrender.

Instead of fighting a losing battle the cells now mutate to alllow themselves to bind with the toxins. They accept the infiltration and the body is now under occupation. The toxins take up residence in the nice comfy adipose tissue (FAT STORES). Trouble is these toxins are still causing damage to the system. They are still poisonous, after all. So in order for them to remain there comfortably without disrupting the lovely new home they've taken over they then start to steal water from the cells. They need to dilute their effect to the point where they can remain there indefinitely without breaking down the body. So now the body is holding excess fat and water just to deal with the toxins that are now permanent residents.

So, it makes sense, if we get rid of the toxins, we get rid of the fat. Once we clean up and banish the toxins there's no reason to hold onto excess body fat or the water that goes alongside it. Even better news, the water that was being stolen by the toxins can now hydrate our poor thirsty overworked cells and they can do their job properly. So now the body is performing at an excellent standard; the organs are working efficiently, the digestive system is at an optimal level, your metabolism is faster, you are burning more fat and you are storing less. Agreed?

OK, so what is a toxin?

Alcohol (yes even organic wine - sorry guys!)

Caffeine
Stimulates adrenal glands to release cortisol - hormone responsible for storing fat

Processed foods
if there's anything you can't pronounce on the label, or it has numbers in it you can bet your bottom dollar it's not natural!

Microwaves
They change the structure of chemical compounds so that microwaved food is unrecognisable to the body; last year a lady died from a blood transfusion because the nurse was in a rush and warmed the blood in the microwave.

Wheat
Wheat as we know it is a highly refined and processed grain. Even wholegrain. So you may think you're trying to be healthy reaching for the fruit 'n' fibre but actually your body can't tell the difference between wheat and simple sugar. Hence, eat wheat, get fat.

In addition wheat protein is the cause of many digestive disorders: Irritable Bowel Syndrome, coeliac disease, general bloating, wind and irregular bowel movements.

Pasteurised and Homogenised dairy
This is too big a subject to go into on a blog but if you want to find out exactly why pasteurised dairy is such a bad thing go to:

http://www.seedsofhealth.co.uk/articles/index_dairy.shtml

Basically flash heating at 500 degrees celcius kills all enzymes. We need enzymes to be able to digest so pasteurisation makes dairy a problem for our digestive system.

Sugar
The biggest culprit of them all.

Sugar causes an insulin response. The bigger the hit the bigger our response. Insulin will command your body to store fat. Hence sugar=insulin=fat. Don't do it. In any form.

So no glucose, dextrose, maltodextrin, corn syrup, fructose, beet sugar, honey, molasses...NOTHING!

So what can you have?

All fresh and organic fruit and vegetables (if you can't get organic wash thouroughly and peel to get rid of pesticides)
Herbs and spices (organic)
Fresh organic, (preferably grass fed) meat
Fresh organic poultry
Fresh organic fish (avoid tuna and shellfish because of the mercury levels)
Rice
Quinoa
Millet
Buckwheat
Rye
Corn
Oats.......
Live natural yoghurt
Real organic butter from grass fed cows
Organic Eggs
Raw milk and whole cheese made from raw milk

Anything else you can think of as long as it's not banned!! This list is not exhaustive, it just gives you ideas on what you can eat. Please add to it!

Combine the diet with 30 mins resistance exercise a day (2 x 15 minute sessions is fine) and you'll see things happen that you never thought possible!

For a copy of the elimination diet visit:

http://www.lookgreatnakedbootcamp.ning.com/

Good Luck!

Is your diet working for you?

Seems like this time of year everyone is on a diet, be it the South Beach diet, Low Carb, Cambridge, the Zone, (the list goes on), trying to lose the fat before spring hits . The weather is getting warmer and soon enough it’ll be time to show all the bits that you could so easily cover up with this year’s oversize jumper dress, black leggings and ugg boots.

So you started your diet a few weeks ago , you were really good for the first couple of weeks and you lost a couple of pounds. Then came the odd slip-up, but it was only a couple of times. Now, even though you’re being good most of the time and getting some exercise to boot, the scales seem to be stuck.

So what do you do?

Well if you’re anything like the general population you’ll just keep on struggling with it, regardless if you are consistently losing weight or not! Sound like madness? You’re damnright it does! But this is human nature. We are after all, creatures of habit and we get stuck in a kind of loop, reverting to the same behaviours because that’s what we’ve always done.
If you’re reading this and you’re nodding in agreement, don’t you think it’s time to make a change?

I’m in the business of results. I work in the only personal training studio in the world that guarantees you will get results in 21 days or we pay DOUBLE your money back!

So how can we be this cocksure? Easy! We plan for it. There is zero guesswork involved. I know exactly what I need to do for a client to get them that result and fast. If I fail, guess what? I go bankrupt! If that’s not motivation, I don’t know what is!

How do we plan? Well it’s not just about looking at exercise or nutrition. Although these are the major components of successful fat loss you can’t lose weight just by eating less and moving more. There are other factors that come into play.

1. Are you eating the right foods?

This is of MAJOR importance in any fat loss nutrition plan! Counting calories just won’t get you there. You need to forget about the calories and focus on the source. If you are eating highly processed foods, drinking caffeinated beverages and not getting a balance of nutrients for your body, you will put on body fat. There’s no way around it, your body MUST retain water in the adipose tissue just to dilute all the toxins in your system!

Make sure your food is fresh, preferably organic, hormone free and non-processed.

Things to avoid like the plague:
Sugar (in any form)
Refined / processed foods (so if you can’t pronounce what’s on the label or it has numbers in it you can bet it’s chemical in nature)
Caffeine
Alcohol (sugar)
Wheat gluten (body treats this as sugar)
Pasteurised and non-homegenised dairy (raw dairy is fine, as is real butter, eggs and live yoghurt)

2. Are you drinking enough water?

You need to be drinking around 1 litre per 50lbs body weight. In my experience that’s about double what most people drink. Without enough water your metabolism will slow down, burning less fat, your skin will become problematic as toxins that should be flushed out are instead dumped in your fat stores, your muscles will become dehydrated, performing at a less than optimal level, burning less fat, you will even get less quality sleep, which means cortisol increases, which means it tells your body to store fat!

Guess what? Drink more water, burn more fat!

3. Are getting enough sleep?

During the hours of 10pm and 2am we have the greatest secretion of melatonin which is needed for body repair. Prolactin is also produced during this time and through to 6am. By getting to bed late you miss out on essential meltonin production and push the prolactin through to waking hours. Prolactin in the day suppresses leptin which basically tells your body when it is full. Hence, by missing out on your sleep you will tend to overeat in the day due to the decreased leptin in your system.

So take a look at your diet. If it’s flouting any one of these essential rules for fast effective fat loss, you need to make a change and do it now! Isn’t it about time your diet worked for you rather than the other way round?

The Case Against Calorie Counting

I've just come out of a team meeting where we were discussing the fallacies surrounding calorie counting and why it's so ingrained into people's mindsets that fewer is better.

For years the general consensus has been that put less in and you'll put less on but there's so many other factors surrounding weight gain that have been completely ignored.

Yes, it would make sense that if you expend more than you consume you will be in calorie deficit, thus losing weight, however consider the following factors:

Thermic environment

Cold environments tell us to slow down our metabolism in order to conserve energy to keep us warm. Even if you are eating fewer calories your body will think "winter" and go into hibernation mode to keep you insulated. Therefore if your working environment is too cold, you could be contributing to your fat storage!

By contrast, have you ever noticed that you eat less in the heat? This is your brain telling your body that you have enough heat to carry on normal internal functions, so you don't need so much fat to insulate yourself.

Muscle:Fat ratio

Did you know that muscle burns fat?

Yep, that's right. So makes sense that the more muscle you have the less fat you carry right?

So imagine two identical twins, the same in every way except one is 12 stone of mostly fat and the other works out regularly and is 12 stone of mostly muscle. They both eat the same meals on a calorie measured diet for a month. The twin who is mostly fat puts on more weight and the twin who is muscle stays the same.

Why?

Because it's not the calories that are contributing to the weight gain, it's the fact that the twin who is largely fat will burn less because he lacks muscle to burn it off!

Hormone balance

Are you stressed?

This could be a major factor in your inability to lose weight. Cortisol actually increases your hunger, slows down your metabolism and tells your body to store fat! Not only that but as a back-up it also destroys muscle tissue so you really have no choice in the matter!

So even if you are counting calories, your stress levels are sabotaging all your good efforts!

Water!

Now we all know we should be drinking more water and you try for a couple of days, then it goes out the window. But if I told you that by increasing this one factor alone you could:

increase your metabolism

improve your digestive system, (for all those with IBS or food intolerances)

improve the functions of your organs, brain, muscular and skeletal systems,

have glowing skin, shiny hair and bright eyes,

be all over healthier, feeling better, looking better and BURN MORE FAT

wouldn't you be heading for the tap right now? Go on then!

The source

Regardless if you're counting calories, the source matters. A LOT! My boyfriend works in construction and he asked me the other day, why is it that builders are fat when they do such hard manual labour all day? Surely they should burn it off?

Would make sense, yeah? More calories out than in?

Simple, they are sourcing all their calories from simple carbs like bread, pasta, potatoes, crisps, and sweet treats. Because these things break down very quickly it's not long before their stomach is empty and it's crying for more. So now they are overeating sugars and not balancing with fibre, protein and good fats. Which leads me on to.....

Malnourishment

No I'm not talking about war torn, 3rd world countries.

I mean you!

What do you mean you're not malnourished?

Are you a habitual eater? Do you go for the same vegetables, proteins and fat sources in your diet most of the time? If the answer is yes, you are likely to be malnourished. Lacking in certain food groups or vitamins and minerals.

Why is this relevant to losing weight? Well if your body is lacking in a certain nutrient and can't find it from the food you're eating it will tell you to eat.

Say you're lacking in saturated fat, (which by the way most of us are), firstly if your body doesn't have it, it ain't letting it go!

Secondly, if there's a whiff of fat in your food, be under no illusions that even though you're on a calorie restricted diet, your body will store it!

Lastly, if your body is lacking a certain nutrient it will tell you to eat and eat now! Never mind that you have already eaten enough to fill you up and provide you with the energy you need to go about your daily routine. Your body wants saturated fat and it wants it now. So now you're feeling hungry and you're overeating to compensate for the lack of nutrients in your diet.

So consider all the above. How do you measure up against your fat loss factors? If you're failing miserably and still counting calories, I advise you take a different tack. After all, who wouldn't want to eat more and weigh less?

The 7 Rules For Gaining Fat... FAST

Fed up of all the exercise plans and diets that have left you tired, irritable and weak? Learn the 7 best ways to poke a thumb in the eye of every personal trainer and diet guru on the planet.

So, you’ve decided to give up.

You’re fed up of all the diets that have promised you great results yet left you hungry, tired, irritable and weak.

You’re fed up of all the ‘wonder workouts’ that have promised you amazing strength, fitness and flexibility ‘in just minutes a day’ but that have left you feeling tired, sore, stiff and, truth be told, no firmer or less flabby than you were before.

But most of all, you’re fed up of all those fitness ‘experts’ out there who tell you how easy it is, how little time it takes and how amazing you’re going to look if you follow THEIR program (ONLY theirs, mind you, no-one else’s will even come near to what they’re offering).

So you’re quitting.

You’re giving up the diet and exercise ‘thing’ and have decided that you’ll just go with the flow and see what happens to your body when the experts aren’t poking their noses into your business and ramming their idea of healthy down your throat.

What a great idea!

No more ‘eat this’ or ‘don’t eat that’, no more ‘don’t forget your cardio’ or ‘weights is better’.
In fact, no more interference of any kind from the countless do-gooders who seem to think that it’s ok for them to advise, nag and bully you into following all kinds of fat loss and fitness advice… as long as it’s theirs.

Good on you!

But before you take the quitters route that most people take, doesn’t it make sense to quit in the right way?

Sure it does!

There’s a science to quitting too y’know and I’m just the person to share it with you : )

So here’s the deal. If you want to quit and quit fast, if you want to pack on pound after pound of soft, warm, figure-blurring bodyfat then you’ve got to have a strategy.

You’ve got to have a plan.

MY plan is easy, straightforward and six-year-old-simple to follow and consists of just seven rules that, if you follow them, will guarantee you the maximum fat gain in the shortest time frame.

It consists of just 7 rules

Rule one: Only eat processed foods

If you’re truly serious about packing on some serious fat-pounds, you’ll follow this rule faithfully.
Without a doubt, processed foods are the No.1 friend to fat due to their denatured, sugar-loaded and mostly synthetic nature.

With most of the vitamins and minerals removed from processed foods, the highly calorific and mostly indigestible remain, creating a massive storehouse of both calories and toxins for you to bury deep within your already overloaded fatty tissues.

Better still, the toxic nature of most processed foods mean that you’ll gain not only fat but a whole lot of subcutaneous water too as your body tries to ‘dilute’ the impact of all the extra toxins you’re holding onto, meaning that you’ll put on extra scale weight and look soft and squidgy into the bargain.

Great stuff!

Rule two: Cram in as many starchy carbs as you can

Starchy carbs eaten in isolation or, better yet, with sugary carbs are an absolutely fantastic way to accelerate the battle of the bulge and gain both fat and body weight at a more rapid pace.

Eating carbohydrates in isolation allows your hormones to engage in a free-running form of guerrilla warfare where insulin levels raise through the roof and, in doing so, command your body to store fat.

A word of warning though; whatever you do, don’t mix your starches with fats or proteins. This reduces both the amount and the effect of all that lovely insulin and will definitely scupper your chances at serious fat gain.

Rule Three: Get to bed as late as you can

If rapid fat gain is your greatest desire, then make sure that you get to bed as late as you possibly can, with the ideal scenario being that you stay up so late every night that you fall asleep on the sofa.

Doing This will ensure a steady supply of the stress hormone cortisol into your bloodstream to help you break down all that energy-consuming lean muscle tissue that’s slowing down your fat gain.

Just don’t ruin the effect by getting to bed by 10:30 or you’ll find that the cortisol levels drop far too low to cannibalise your muscle and you may even find that you lose all your precious fat!

Rule four: Steer clear of water

Drink too much water and you’ll not only do away with your body’s false food cravings (meaning that you won’t eat unnecessarily), but you’ll also create a freer flowing route for the digestion of the foods you’ve eaten.

Obviously, this is a bad thing as it means you won’t keep undigested foods in your stomach long enough for them to go putrid and add to the overall toxic load on your system.

Remember, anything that speeds up your metabolism is bad!

Instead, use coffee, tea and soda to ‘mix up’ your metabolism and increase toxicity.

Rule five: Don’t forget the alcohol!

Alcohol is just about as pure a sugar source as you can get and is absolutely jam-packed with calories that contribute nothing to the function of your body.

Better still, alcohol adds to your toxic load meaning that you’ll hold a large amount of water too!

Rule Six Use the microwave for all of your cooking

Microwave’s are great!

During the heating process they vibrate the molecules of your food so fast that they actually change their structure, meaning that when you eat nuked food, your body has no idea about how to cope with them, let alone extract nutrition from them.

This is fantastic for your fat gain quest because you’ll be adding to your toxic load AND creating a surplus of non-nutritional calories, meaning that you’ll get hungry again very soon after eating and have another opportunity to stock up on calories.

Rule Seven: Avoid all unnecessary movement

There’s no getting away from it, movement of any kind costs you valuable calorie-energy and robs you of the vital fat building stores that’ll be necessary for your quest.

Stay as still as you can to conserve as much energy as possible and commit to using as many labour-saving devices as you can find. Things like remote controls, stair lifts, escalators etc all serve a valuable role in the creation of your fat stores, so use them.

If you are forced to move, then whatever you do, don’t engage in any form of activity that might lead to an increase in strength or muscle mass as this’ll speed up your metabolism and rob you of calories. Instead, engage in steady-state, slow aerobic activities as these are energy efficient and have the added benefit of increasing cortisol and, in doing so, breaking down that calorie-robbing muscle tissue.

So that’s it!

Your seven rules that, if followed, will absolutely guarantee that you pack on fat faster than you’d ever believe possible and allow you to thumb your nose and poke your tongue out at every personal trainer or diet guru who ever promised you a rapid result from following their plans.

Follow just one or two of them for even a short time and you’ll see a rapid softening of the waistline and an appreciable gain in scale-weight. Follow them all and you’ll gain so much weight that you’ll be stunned by the reflection staring back at you within a month.

Give it a go!

Note: If you’re one of those weirdo’s who feel that you’d like to take the extreme approach of actually losing bodyfat then just reverse the rules above to see equally rapid fat loss… I don’t know why you’d want to though!

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://lookgreatnakedbootcamp.blogspot.com/2008/02/7-rules-for-gaining-fat-fast.html' title='The 7 Rules For Gaining Fat... Put that low fat cereal bar / chocolate substitute / diet coke down right now!!!

Unless you want to increase your body fat you need to read this!

With the raft of information flooding the media about obesity, weight loss and how fat we are becoming it's only fair to think you're doing the right thing by replacing your full fat counterparts with diet and low fat options but before you opt for the low fat rice snacks take a minute to think about why obesity levels and the use of artificial sweeteners have risen simultaneously!

Resarchers, Susan Swithers and Terry Davidson from Purdue University, Indiana, conducted a study substituting a low-calorie yoghurt for a full fat version and found that the low-calorie study group gained more weight and body fat than the group using the sugary version.

It was found that sweet tasting foods stimulated the body to receive a high amount of calories. When this doesn't happen the body's system gets confused and compensates by stimulating people to eat more or by burning less as a result.

This doesn't mean you should bin the intentions to cut back on the sugar though! Just replace your sugar-free treats with clean wholesome foods, packed with nutrients the body needs to perform efficiently.

In our elimination diet we encourage eating only real, whole organic foods with nothing artificial added. The weather is getting warmer, (slowly!), and January and February have flown past but you still haven't gotten around to really starting that health kick you were all geared up for.

Well, you had all good intentions right?

You bought all that fresh fruit and veg, green tea and turkey mince as well as signing up to the gym or promising yourself you'll definitely start jogging 3 times a week, (thing is it's been really cold and dark so that's kind of not really happened), but you still haven't lost anything or you're way off target.

Are you telling yourself it's fine because you'll just get really into it this week? Or have you realised that something else is holding you back?

More than likely it's YOU! You haven't set yourself clear enough goals and you're not even sure why they're important to you. It's all well and good saying that you want to lose half a stone but if you have no idea why you want it or how you're going to get there then you might as well kiss that idea goodbye right now!

95% of success or failure stems from the mind.

Having clear and defined goals and a definite pathway to the end result is a major factor in all successful weight loss programmes.

You need to plan to win. Atheletes don't go in to win gold by kind of thinking about it, they plan their nutrition, training calender, even their rest to make sure they get there and get there at the right time.

Ok, I hear you, you're not an athelete right? But are your goals any less important to you? If they are then maybe you need to rethink them and find out what it is that really will make a difference in your life. If you know what you want and why you want it then you need to start thinking about how you're going to get there.

One of the first things I do with my clients is work with them to set a clear ideal in mind of where they want to be in a certain time period. Then we'll look at exactly what it will take to get them there. If it's unrealistic then we'll have to play around with elements of the goal until we have something that fits. Once they know exactly what they need to do each day to get to their ideal it's easy enough to stick to their plan.

Enlist as much support as possible. Get your friends and family involved and do it together or look for a community to give you support, advice and the knowledge that someone else is doing it with you. There's lots of online forums, or you could look at joining, (or creating) a group who are working towards the same goals.

So if you haven't already got your goals planned out, go do it and know that this time you're going to get there!

Want to Look Great Naked in just 12 weeks?

Calling all Fat Losers!

Do you hit the cardio confessional three times a week?
(well actually, it's more like two, or one and a half if I can make excuses about work / kids / not feeling well)

Have you tried spin class / body pump / fit 'n' funky / weights machines, (delete as appropriate) have been doing it for years and seen your body lose a few pounds here and there but never really manage to get to your goal and stay there?

Fat loss and optimal health is our number one priority.
